I am so very excited, and honoured, to have been chosen as a Healthy Role Models ambassador for this journey!  This is such a powerful group, full of wonderful women. 

My name is Marti, and this is journey number seven for me. I moved to Comox in February of 2020, but have been on Vancouver Island since September of 2013. I work as an RVT at a veterinary hospital in Parksville. Honestly, I love my job. 

I also have Rheumatoid Arthritis. I was diagnosed about 20 years ago. Right now, it’s controlled very well. But, if you are a member of the Chronic Condition club, believe me when I say I feel your pain. I am living proof that movement is medicine. 

Healthy Role Models has brought me out of my shell. First journey (or two, maybe more), I was far too shy to go to an event. I progressed to going with a friend (also the reason I joined). The day came that she couldn’t attend, so I went on my own. Last journey,I hosted my own event. If I can do it, anyone can!  Push that fear aside.  You are so welcome to join any and all of them. Just because the majority of activity will be online, doesn’t mean they aren’t fun. 

One more thing!  I LOVE RUNNING!!!  I want everyone to love something as much as I love running. Whether it’s across the street, or an ultramarathon, if you ran it - you my chosen sister, are a runner!
